Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered surveillance systems have revolutionized public security, crime prevention, and organizational monitoring. However, these systems also present significant privacy risks and ethical challenges, including mass data collection, potential breaches of anonymity, and biased algorithmic decisions. This paper discusses the major privacy concerns associated with large-scale AI-driven surveillance, ethical considerations, and proposed mitigation strategies to enhance user anonymity and data security. The findings suggest that regulatory frameworks, advanced encryption, federated learning, and differential privacy mechanisms can mitigate these risks while ensuring the effectiveness of AI-driven surveillance.
